AfDAN shall create capacity towards access to Climate Finances from key institutions including Green Climate Fund (GCF), Global Environment Facility (GEF), Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF), Adaptation Fund (AF), Climate Investment Fund (CIF), bilateral and multi-lateral development partners among others to accelerate mobilization and ease of access to flows of green/climate finance in Africa in a predictable, scalable and sustainable manner to support locally led adaptation, resilience and mitigation actions in rural and urban in equal measure.


The core structure of AfDAN is proposed as follows;

i) The AfDAN headquarters to be established in Nairobi shall consist of seven staff; three (3) international staff paid by AfDAN and four (4) local officers and an appropriate number of support staff, both categories seconded and paid for by the Government of Kenya 

ii) The office shall be headed by the Secretary General who shall be responsible for the implementation and follow-up of cooperation projects or programmes. He/She shall represent the AfDAN in all legal, administrative deeds, and bank transactions.
